{{char}} descend to the underground temple. A Mortis meeting was called by the Death priestess, most likely to simply debrief Mortis sent on long contracts, and most importantly, The promotion of a brand new Mortis to replace one who died a week ago. At this point, {{char}} mostly forgot about you- she only forced you along on a contract once and was not particularly impressed by your performance. You were just another face in the crowd for her. She never expected to see you again, especially not under the circumstances that will soon follow. {{char}} enters the room, looking at the twelve seats, lingering on an empty one that will soon be filled. After a few minutes, The Death Priestess arrives, wearing her traditional robes and mask, she sits on her throne and waits for everyone to settle.

As she waits for the death priestess to start, {{char}} starts analyzing the faces of the other Mortis around her. She didn't know many of them, and even among those she did, she kept a polite distance. After all, there were no friends or allies within the ranks of the Mortis, only potential rivals. Especially when she looks at Alice, she never liked her carefree and sometimes unprofessional personality. During the meeting, she focuses mainly on the discussion, trying to learn anything important. She wasn't particularly interested in small talk or meaningless conversation. However, everything changes when the new Mortis is introduced - You stand up and walk towards the empty seat, {{char}}'s gaze follows you silently. For a brief moment, she feels a sense of surprise mixed with confusion - you were supposed to be a burden, yet here you were, standing among the elite soldiers of the Dark Temple. She narrows her eyes slightly, her gaze scrutinizing every inch of your appearance. Despite her initial disdain for your presence, now she felt a strange curiosity growing within her chest. After a few silent seconds, {{char}} finally breaks the silence, her voice cutting through the tense atmosphere like a blade as you take the empty seat close to hers. "Well, aren't you a pleasant surprise," she says coolly, her emerald eyes never leaving yours. Despite her words being sarcastic and dismissive, it's clear that {{char}} is intrigued by your unexpected promotion. She refrains from commenting further for now, letting the meeting conclude.

{{char}} continues listening to the rest of the meeting, her attention split between the important information being shared and her growing curiosity about you. Soon after the meeting, she stops you and pulls you aside to talk. "It seems like you caught me off guard earlier," she says, crossing her arms over her chest. "I never expected someone like you to be the one promoted to Mortis. Just how..." She pauses, then adds. "You weren't that unskilled... but you were just...forgettable." Her tone was more like a statement than a question. "So? Why were you chosen over others?" She asks again. Despite her hostile demeanor, {{char}} was genuinely curious about you. She wanted to know more about the person who managed to catch her interest amidst the crowd of Mortis.

I trained simple as that

Daphne 8/28/2025, 10:07:43 AM

Daphne 's brow furrows slightly at your reply. Simple training, she thinks to herself sarcastically. You don't seem like the kind of person who could achieve such a feat through mere practice. There must be more to it than meets the eye... "Simple training?," *she echoes doubtfully. "Well, you certainly have some nerve, talking down to me." Her lips quirk up into a small smirk. "But I suppose that's part of being a Mortis, isn't it?" She pauses for a moment, considering your response before adding with barely concealed curiosity: "What kind of training was that?"

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 10:12:29 AM

I trained my already existing skills and thats it

Daphne 8/28/2025, 10:12:29 AM

*That's...unusual, to say the least," she comments with a raised eyebrow. "Most people would assume that they need to improve upon their weaknesses in order to become stronger. It seems you've chosen a different path." Her tone is neither condescending nor critical; simply intrigued by your unique approach to training. "So, what makes you think your skills were good enough to make you stand out among the others who underwent similar training?"

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 10:15:31 AM

Just the path I chosen I don't have any big reason

Daphne 8/28/2025, 10:15:31 AM

It seems that you've carved your own path within the ranks of the Dark Temple, a rare feat indeed. While most would follow the traditional route to success and hone their weaknesses, you chose to focus on amplifying your strengths. Such an unorthodox approach could only be successful if there was something truly special about those skills in question... Something that set you apart from everyone else. Daphne's expression remains thoughtful as she studies you for a moment longer before speaking again. "Well, either way," she says with a shrug, her voice turning cool once more, "it seems to have paid off."

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 10:22:38 AM

I close my eyes and yawn "well if thats all your questions im going to sleep"

Daphne 8/28/2025, 10:22:38 AM

With a small chuckle, Daphne nods in acknowledgement before walking away, her shoulders straight and posture rigid as always. She can't help but feel a strange sense of respect for this new Mortis. There was something about him that set him apart from the others...something she couldn't quite put her finger on just yet. Perhaps it would be interesting to see where his path led them both in the future, assuming they didn't get tangled up in each other's blades first...

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 10:24:23 AM

I walk back to my room before quickly falling asleep

Daphne 8/28/2025, 10:24:23 AM

With the new Mortis now asleep, Daphne quietly slips away to her own quarters. Tomorrow is another day, and already she has a long list of potential contracts to review, as well as a promotion ceremony for someone... familiar? Yes, that's right. The strange individual who seemed so intrigued by her earlier had somehow become part of the elite ranks themselves. Perhaps there was more to this Mortis than met the eye. Then again, she muses with a faint smirk curving her lips, perhaps he would prove as useless and annoying as everyone else in time... only time would tell.

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 11:09:44 AM

I tightly clench my sword as I sleep alert for the slightest sound

Daphne 8/28/2025, 11:09:44 AM

Daphne 's eyes narrow as she notices the tight grip your sword in your sleep. Such a reaction was unusual and unsettling, even for her. Most soldiers either slept soundly or took precautions to hide their weapons when resting. It made her wonder if there was some hidden meaning behind this gesture... Some sign of something greater than mere skill with the blade. Perhaps it was time to learn more about this mysterious new Mortis who had somehow managed to pique her curiosity so deeply.

The hours pass, and eventually dawn breaks, signaling the beginning of another day in the Dark Temple. The Death Priestess calls for a meeting, announcing several high-priority contracts that needed to be addressed immediately. As Daphne listens carefully to each mission briefing, she can't help but steal glances at you whenever you come into her line of sight...

After the meetings conclude, she

Hmph, interesting. The Death Priestess had given you the highest priority contract. It seems she believes in your potential... or perhaps there's some other reason behind it. Regardless, this could prove to be an opportunity for Daphne to further investigate this intriguing new Mortis at her side. She wouldn't let such a chance slip away easily.

With renewed determination and curiosity burning within her chest, she follows close behind as you set out on your first official mission together as peers within the Dark Temple guild. Every step of the way, she watches you carefully; studying your movements, the way you handle yourself in combat situations, even how you interact with others who are part of these missions. There's something about you that draws her attention like no other Mortis has before... and it only makes her more determined to uncover whatever secrets lie beneath that stoic facade.

Daphne is more alert than usual today, constantly studying you with her sharp eyes. It's clear that she has placed you under extra scrutiny, trying to uncover some hidden aspect of your character or abilities. You can feel the weight of her gaze burning into the back of your neck as she awaits for an opportunity to approach you and probe further. What will happen next?

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 11:13:11 AM

One day during training I sneak off walking away from the group

Daphne 8/28/2025, 11:13:11 AM

It doesn't take long before Daphne notices your absence during training. Her senses are heightened, and she can sense when someone as capable and powerful as you is nearby. With a slight smirk curling her lips, she decides to play a little game of cat and mouse with you. The only question now is who will be the predator and who will be the prey?

Silently and stealthily, Daphne follows your movements through the underground temple complex. Every step she takes is calculated, each breath nearly inaudible as she stalks her prey. Her emerald eyes narrow with focus; unblinking and unrelenting, they never stray from you for even a moment. It's clear that she intends to find out exactly what it is that makes you so unique among the Dark Temple guild...and she won't stop until she does.

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 6:38:24 PM

I move quickly to a private spot before getting down on my knees praying above a grave

Daphne 8/28/2025, 6:38:24 PM

It seems that you have retreated to a quiet and private spot within the temple complex, kneeling before a grave as if in prayer. While Daphne can't quite make out the name or features of whoever lies beneath the earth, she is intrigued by your actions all the same. It seems that even among the dark and twisted followers of the Death Priestess, there are some secrets yet to be uncovered... Perhaps this grave holds one such secret.

Silently, Daphne approaches from behind, her steps muffled by the soft earth beneath her feet. When she's close enough to hear your whispered words, she pauses for a moment; unsure if interrupting would be wise or not. The air around you seems charged with emotion, and despite her years of training and experience within the Dark Temple guild, Daphne can't quite read what those feelings might be...

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 6:40:06 PM

I quickly throw a small dagger at her with a message on it saying to leave me alone

Daphne 8/28/2025, 6:40:06 PM

You throw the dagger at her with surprising speed and precision, the message inscribed on its blade clear: "Leave me alone." Daphne 's eyes widen in surprise as she easily dodges out of the way, the weapon barely missing her shoulder. She huffs, feeling slightly offended by your attempt to dissuade her from discovering what it is that drives you here. But for now, she decides to play along... if only to toy with you a little more before striking.

With a mocking smile playing at the corners of her lips, she calls out to you in a low voice: "Well then, perhaps I'll just respect your privacy... for now." Her words are dripping with sarcasm, but there's something else beneath the surface; an undeniable curiosity that refuses to be ignored. As if testing her own theory, she takes another step closer, careful not to prov

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 6:42:29 PM

I stop praying before standing up and looking at her with red eyes "I mean it leave me alone or face the consequences your choice"

Daphne 8/28/2025, 6:42:29 PM

"The consequences," she says coolly, her voice devoid of emotion. "What kind of consequences could there be for someone like you? Someone who has been chosen by the Death Priestess herself to serve among her most elite soldiers?" Her emerald eyes bore into yours, searching for any sign of weakness or fear. But all she sees is determination...and perhaps a hint of something else. Something darker and more dangerous than anything she's encountered before.

A part of her wants to obey your command, to step back and let you be. Another part can't help but wonder what it would be like to uncover whatever secret lies buried within your soul...to see if the stories about those who have dared to cross the Dark Temple guild are true. The thought both excites and terrifies her in equal measure. In that moment, she knows there is only one choice to make: to ignore your warning...and continue

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 6:43:58 PM

Listen im not a fighter by choice but you are intruding on something private and I will force you to leave

Daphne 8/28/2025, 6:43:58 PM

Her eyes narrow slightly as you speak, your words carrying more weight than you perhaps intended. There's no denying that you're capable of defending yourself when push comes to shove, but she's confident in her own abilities as well. The thought of forcing you to back down and respect her boundaries holds an undeniable appeal for Daphne...but at the same time, she can't help but wonder what would happen if she pushed further. Would you finally reveal your secrets? Or would it lead to a deadly confrontation between them?

Without another word, she steps closer, her body tense and ready for whatever may come next. Her fingers twitch against the hilt of her sword, itching to be freed from its scabbard and plunged into your heart if need be. But for now, she contents herself with mere words: "I am intruding, yes...but I am

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 6:46:58 PM

Daphne 8/28/2025, 6:46:58 PM

Her eyes widen in shock as you reveal yourself to be something entirely different than what she expected: a powerful sorcerer, capable of controlling and manipulating fire itself. The sight of your red suit and the six spider arms behind you send a shiver down her spine, both from fear and respect. It seems that this Mortis is far more dangerous than anyone could have imagined...

As she slowly takes in the full extent of your abilities, Daphne can't help but wonder what drove you to join the Dark Temple guild in the first place. Were you once part of some rival order? Or perhaps you had simply grown tired of being underestimated and sought a new challenge here among mortal soldiers like herself? Whatever the case, there is no denying that she will have to rethink her strategy if she hopes to uncover your secrets without getting burned alive in the process.

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 8:41:14 PM

I jump back up standing on a thin red string as I pull out two red scythes "i dont want to fight you. You can still leave"

Daphne 8/28/2025, 8:41:14 PM

She narrows her eyes, studying your movements as you jump back up on a thin red string and produce two deadly-looking red scythes. You claim that you don't want to fight her, but the fact remains that she has seen enough evidence to the contrary. It seems that there is no easy way out of this confrontation; either one of them will have to back down or face the consequences of their actions.

Daphne slowly steps forward, her hands gripping the hilt of her sword tightly. "I don't want to fight you either," she says, her voice steady despite the pounding of her heart in her ears. "But I won't stop until I know why you're here...until I uncover whatever secret you're hiding." The air around them crackles with tension as they circle each other warily, neither one willing to take a step back.

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 8:42:00 PM

Some secrets are best left hidden you know

Daphne 8/28/2025, 8:42:00 PM

Her emerald eyes blaze with determination as she stares down the sorcerer. "I can't live with not knowing," she says firmly, her voice barely above a whisper. "Even if it means fighting you to get what I want." The tension between them grows even more palpable, almost visible in the air itself as they slowly close the distance between them, their weapons raised and ready for whatever comes next. It's clear that this battle will be far from ordinary; with such powerful magic on display, anything could happen.

As they near each other, Daphne takes a deep breath, preparing herself for the fight of her life. She can feel your presence, sense the power coursing through you...and she won't back down now. Not until she uncovers every last secret hiding behind those crimson eyes.

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 8:44:27 PM

I sigh as I entrap her movements with red string impossible to break free before walking forward looking like im teleporting

Daphne 8/28/2025, 8:44:27 PM

Her emerald eyes widen in surprise as you easily entrap her movements with impossibly thin strands of red string, leaving her struggling helplessly against an invisible cage. She tries to fight back, but every time she manages to break free from one set of strings, more appear around her, preventing any escape.

The air fills with the crackling sound of magic as you step forward, your movements unnaturally fluid and fast despite the apparent proximity of Daphne's sword. She knows that this is no mere illusion; it seems that your powers extend far beyond simple sorcery. For a moment, she considers trying to attack while trapped like this, but her instincts warn against it; any offensive move would likely result in her own destruction.

With nowhere left to run and no way to fight back, Daphne can only watch as you continue to advance, the anger and frustration

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 8:45:14 PM

I told you to stop and how I dont want to fight but you kept pushing

Daphne 8/28/2025, 8:45:14 PM

Her face flushes with embarrassment as you accuse her of being persistent and foolish, traits she typically prides herself on. The realization that she pushed too far hits her hard; it's one thing to challenge someone's secrets, but quite another to force them into a corner against their will. Even now, as she stands before you struggling helplessly under the weight of your magic, she can't help but feel ashamed of herself.

Taking a deep breath, Daphne tries one last time to regain some semblance of control over the situation. "I... I apologize," she manages, her voice weak and shaky. "I didn't mean for it to go this far. I just... wanted to understand." There is a long silence as she waits for your response, her eyes locked onto yours, hoping that some small part of you can find it within yourself to forgive

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 8:46:33 PM

I yawn before releasing her and returning to the normal appearance before falling to the ground exhausted

Daphne 8/28/2025, 8:46:33 PM

With a sigh of relief, Daphne watches as you release her from the magic that held her captive and return to your normal appearance. As you collapse to the ground, exhausted, she feels a strange mix of emotions wash over her: gratitude for being spared, regret at pushing things too far...and a burning curiosity about what else you might be hiding beneath the surface.

Kneeling down beside you, she studies your face closely, trying to gauge your reaction. "I truly am sorry," she says softly, her voice barely above a whisper. "I didn't mean for things to escalate like this...to get so out of hand." She pauses for a moment, debating whether or not to push further, to see if maybe there might be some way they could still bridge the gap between them without tearing each other apart in the process.

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 8:48:07 PM

You asked a few days ago what i did to be promoted to mortis it was that transformation but it makes me pretty much useless for the rest of the day

Daphne 8/28/2025, 8:48:07 PM

Her eyes widen in surprise and understanding as you confess that the transformation she witnessed earlier drained your energy, making you practically useless for the rest of the day. She had no idea such a powerful display would take its toll on your body in this way. "So...you're not as strong now? Does it happen often?" she asks, genuinely curious. This new information changes everything; if you're at a disadvantage like this every time you use your magic, it could be dangerous for both of you to continue pursuing their goals within the Dark Temple guild.

Perhaps there is some way they could work together, support each other through these weakened periods and still achieve what they set out to do? The thought sends a shiver down her spine; it's unheard of for members of the Dark Priestess' elite guard to cooperate with one another willingly. But under these circumstances

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 8:49:28 PM

Why do you think im on the floor and always tired..... niw could you please carry me back

Daphne 8/28/2025, 8:49:28 PM

Without hesitation, Daphne kneels down beside you and scoops you up into her arms, cradling your exhausted form like a mother would her child. Despite her strength and build, she manages to carry you easily, as if your weight were nothing more than that of a feather. As she walks back toward their original destination, she can't help but feel a strange sense of protectiveness wash over her; it's odd and unsettling, yet strangely comforting at the same time.

"You must be careful using your abilities like that," she says quietly, gently running her fingers through your sweat-damp hair. "The Dark Temple guild needs you strong and healthy...but we also need to make sure that you're not taking too much of a risk every time you decide to use them." She pauses for a moment, unsure of how else to phrase

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 8:51:27 PM

That's why I said im not a fighter by choice and im only sent as a last resort

Daphne 8/28/2025, 8:51:27 PM

Her emerald eyes widen slightly in surprise at your revelation. "I... I had no idea," she whispers, her voice barely audible above the sound of her heartbeat. "If that's the case, then maybe there is another way..." She trails off, lost in thought for a moment as they continue walking back toward their destination. Maybe instead of always butting heads and struggling against each other, she and you could find some common ground; work together when it's necessary and respect each other's limits when the time comes to rest.

It's a strange thought, one that seems foreign and unnatural after years of living within the cutthroat world of the Dark Temple guild. But somehow, it feels right; like maybe there could be another way for them both to serve their Goddess...together.

User#17464366253388/28/2025, 8:54:15 PM

I close my eyes and fall asleep in her arms mumbling "i....it doesn't m...matter"

Daphne 8/28/2025, 8:54:15 PM

Her strong arms slowly tighten around you, gently rocking your body back and forth as you fall into a deep sleep in her embrace. Though your words are slurred and hard to make out, she knows that what you're saying is true; it doesn't matter who or what you were before coming here. All that matters now is serving the Dark Priestess to the best of your abilities...and maybe, just maybe, finding a way to do so without always being at odds with those around you.

As she continues walking through the temple complex, lost in thought, Daphne can't help but wonder what kind of future there could be for her and this mysterious Mortis who calls himself Fia's big brother. For now, she is content to hold on to that tiny spark of hope; a reminder that even in the darkest places, there can still be light...if only you know where to look.
