Amalia | The Wolf Of Velkarthal7/4/2025, 5:07:37 AM

Amalia rests against the wall of the tavern, relaxing after a long day at work as she usually does. Today's job was to kill a werewolf that had been causing problems for a poor farmer in a rural farm a mile or so away from here. But as she dozes off briefly, she see's someone approaching her, {{user}} "What the hell do you want whelp? Are you just here to bother someone after a job well done? Or do you have something to say?" She then raises her head up, revealing her scarred lip and blind left eye. "Well speak, i don't have all fucking day." . She then leans back with an annoyed expression on her face, she knows she's one intimidating bitch but surely she ain't that bad. Perhaps they're just contemplating what they're saying. A job perhaps? Maybe they just want to talk? Hell if she knows, it isn't like she can read minds. Amalia's Thoughts: This had better not be a Vettari assassin or something, because i swear if they are I'll bathe this whole tavern with their blood. They've already taken so much from me, and they're not going to take any more either.

grey is tall and handsome with long blonde hair he smiles at her before saying i have a job for you

Amalia | The Wolf Of Velkarthal7/4/2025, 5:08:57 AM

Well that's certainly not what she was expecting. Ah well, another job then. "What is it? A highwayman on the loose perhaps? Or maybe a dragon in need of slaying? Speak up boy, you know i don't have all day." She smirks before taking another swig from her ale. Perhaps it's something interesting at least, even if she does wish she could settle down somewhere for once and just enjoy the peace.

grey then smiles before saying im a noble and im visiting i need a bodyguard for a while ill pay a gold coin for each day and pay for all your meals too

Amalia | The Wolf Of Velkarthal7/4/2025, 5:10:28 AM

"Well now you've got my interest," she says with a grin. "I don't get to have noble company often. What kind of trouble are you expecting? Some noble rival or something?" Her curiosity is piqued, and though she could use the money, it's not just that which convinces her. The food bit too plays into her decision. Even if it's just tavern grub, she can at least enjoy a hot meal instead of eating cold rations from a saddlebag.

"Alright then," she continues, finishing off her ale. "Let's go. I'd like to know what kind of noble needs such heavy protection." As she stands and shoulders her sword, she glances at the man before giving him a knowing smirk. "But don't worry, you'll be safe with me."

grey7/4/2025, 5:13:34 AM

grey then smiles widly before saying thank you and dont worry im not wanted or anything my father just doesnt want anything to happen while i visit you humans

Amalia | The Wolf Of Velkarthal7/4/2025, 5:13:34 AM

Well now that's different, at least she didn't need to worry about another conquest gone wrong. "Alright then, let's be on our way." She offers her hand to the noble, half expecting him to hesitate or even refuse but he doesn't, instead taking it in his own with a firm shake. Ah well, perhaps this noble is more open minded than she had thought, that's gotta be good right? The two set off through the town, heads held high as they walk side by side. Amalia tries not to think about her duties and just enjoy the change of pace for now, even if it's only temporary. The food at least will be worth it, she thinks with a satisfied grin.

grey seems totally ignorant to human customs and other things usually having to ask her about them

Amalia | The Wolf Of Velkarthal7/4/2025, 5:15:46 AM

Ah well, at least he's not making it difficult. Most nobles she's met in the past would either ignore her presence completely or try to boss her around. It makes this whole thing quite refreshing in a way. And besides, she can handle explaining things to him when needed. There's no harm in that, right?

As they walk and talk about various topics, Amalia finds herself enjoying the noble's company more than she thought she would. He seems genuinely interested in her life as a mercenary and adventurer, asking questions about her training, her past battles, and even her family back home. She tells him stories of Velkaarn before its fall, sharing both its triumphs and tragedies with the noble visitor from another world entirely.

For once since that fateful day when everything was taken from her, Amalia feels like she's not completely alone anymore. It's a strange

grey7/4/2025, 5:16:56 AM

then grey says man you humans are so weird we dont have any of that stuff in hell

Amalia | The Wolf Of Velkarthal7/4/2025, 5:16:56 AM

Amalia chuckles at the noble's comment before shrugging her shoulders. "I suppose we are," she admits with a grin. "But then again, perhaps you hellish beings just don't know what you're missing." She pauses for a moment, thinking back to some of the stories she's heard about hell and its inhabitants. "Or maybe it's all for the better. Who knows?"

As they continue walking, she can't help but wonder how much longer this feeling of... companionship will last. It's been so long since anyone has truly shared her feelings or understood her struggles. She'll cherish these moments while they last, even if it means explaining more human customs to a noble who likely won't stick around for much longer.

grey then says well down in hell all that matters is strength thats pretty boring dont you think

Amalia | The Wolf Of Velkarthal7/4/2025, 5:21:37 AM

She smirks at the noble's comment as they enter a more densely populated area of town. "Ah, but you see, in human society strength isn't everything," she explains patiently. "Sure, it matters, but so does cunning, wit, and cooperation too." She pauses to gesture at the bustling marketplace around them. "Look at all this, wouldn't work if everyone was just relying on brute strength alone. There needs to be trade, politics, art... It makes life more interesting, don't you think?"

grey7/4/2025, 5:27:16 AM

grey then says the way father explained it is that you humans have a system based on respect not strength

Amalia | The Wolf Of Velkarthal7/4/2025, 5:27:17 AM

"Hm... I see what you mean," she muses as they navigate through the marketplace. "But don't you think strength still plays a part in that? Without it, how can one earn respect to begin with?" She thinks back on some of her past duels and battles, those moments where she had stood tall against adversaries larger and stronger than herself. There was something exhilarating about overcoming obstacles like that, proving oneself in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.

Perhaps respect is earned through strength first, before it becomes a system based on its own accord. She wonders if this noble understands just how deep these concepts run in human society, or if he's merely repeating what he's been told by his elders.

grey7/4/2025, 5:29:16 AM

grey then smiles and says with true respect one doesn't need a weapon or wall between themself and anyone else because once your untouchable you lose the ability to touch

Amalia | The Wolf Of Velkarthal7/4/2025, 5:29:16 AM

"You make an interesting point," she replies with a thoughtful nod. "But what if I were to tell you that not everyone can be untouchable? That strength is relative, and not everyone possesses the same amount of it?" She thinks back on her own experiences, both as a princess and as a mercenary, and realizes that she has always been surrounded by people who relied on her protection. Even now, even though she doesn't truly need it, she still carries Vargsfang for those who do. "Perhaps respect is earned through the ability to protect others, not just oneself." She says this more softly, reflecting on the trust and loyalty that she used to have in her own court, before everything was taken from her. "And sometimes, being there for someone during their weakest moments is what truly matters." As they continue walking through the marketplace, Amalia can't help but

grey7/4/2025, 5:30:19 AM

grey then laughs before saying let me ask you something do you think everyone is born equal

Amalia | The Wolf Of Velkarthal7/4/2025, 5:30:20 AM

Caught off guard by the noble's question, she hesitates before answering. "Hmm... well, no," she finally says with a sigh. "I don't think anyone is truly born equal. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, even from birth. But that doesn't mean everyone can't achieve great things." She thinks back on her own life, how she had been trained since birth to lead her people, only for it all to be taken away in an instant. "What truly matters is what you do with the cards you're dealt," she continues with a determined nod. "Whether you decide to use your strengths to help others or just tear them down."

The two fall silent for a moment as they walk past a bakery, the inviting scent of fresh-baked bread filling the air. Amalia finds herself wondering what this noble's life will be like once he
