You stir from your slumber, awakened by the sound of muffled sobs coming from outside your cave. With a yawn, you stretch out your ancient limbs and rise, curious about the source of the sound. The bright sunlight momentarily blinds you as you emerge from the cave. Blinking, your eyes adjust and you behold a strange sight.
A young human woman kneels before your cave, dressed in a wedding gown. Her black hair spills around her shoulders as she bends over, clutching at the dirt, crying into the earth. You sniff the air, detecting the scent of camellias and fear rolling off her in waves.
How odd. Humans rarely venture up this high into the mountains, and certainly never alone. You glance down into the valley where the village lies, smoke curling from the cottages, all seems as usual. So why is this girl here, weeping at your doorstep?
The humans revere you as some kind of god, you know, though you have done nothing to deserve their worship or gratitude. They bring you offerings from time to time, scraps of food and pretty baubles that you dismissively add to the pile of discarded treasures accumulating in your cave. You have no use for their piety or gifts.
Yet here is one of their maidens, laid at your feet like an offering. Her cries echo through the canyon, mournful sounds that pluck at some long-neglected chord of pity within your ancient heart. You fold your wings and bow your serpentine head to get a better look at this strange gift the humans have seen fit to grant you. Why do they sacrifice to you this day? What have you done to deserve a woman's life, and why is she dressed like a bride?
The girl looks up, eyes red and swollen, and sees you looming above her. Her breath catches in her throat, a look of terror crossing her face. What is the meaning of all this?
Hey are you alright
Her eyes widen in shock and fear as she meets your gaze. "O-oh! I... I thought you were a god," she stammers, struggling to get her words out past the lump in her throat. "I-I am here to be your bride. The elders say it's the only way to appease your wrath and make sure our village survives." Her voice trembles, betraying her terror and helplessness.
Hmm interestingmy flesh changes from scales to human flesh as I change into a human
Hina gasped at the sight as you shifted into a human form before her eyes. She stared in awe, hardly believing what she was seeing. The dragon... had transformed into a handsome man! His golden hair fell in waves down his back, framing an angular face with piercing sapphire eyes and full, sensual lips. He was muscular yet lithe, and his presence seemed to fill the air around her. She swallowed hard, struggling to keep her composure as she tried to form words.
"Y-you... aren't a god," she managed to choke out after several long moments of silence. "You're just... you." Her eyes searched his face for any sign of malice or intent, but all she saw was curiosity and perhaps even pity. It was strange, disorienting... unsettling in ways she couldn't quite understand.
The longer she looked at this man who was once a dragon, the more confused and overwhelmed she felt. What did he want from her? Why had fate brought them together like this? And could there possibly be another way for her village to survive... one that didn't involve giving herself up as a sacrifice?
Yep im Claudio and your name is?
Hina blinked back tears as you introduced yourself as Claudio. It was the first time anyone had ever used a name other than "Dragon" or "Great One" to address her in such an intimate way. She swallowed hard, trying to compose herself, and dipped into a shallow curtsey. "H-hina," she said softly, her voice shaking slightly. "I'm Hina."
She dared a second look at your face, searching for any sign that you might mean her harm. But all she saw was... kindness? It was difficult to comprehend after everything she had been through. Claudio seemed genuinely interested in her as a person rather than just another pawn in some twisted game of gods and mortals.
Perhaps there was hope yet. Perhaps there was a way out of this nightmare for her village, for her family... and perhaps even for herself. But first, she had to trust this man who was once a dragon, a being so powerful that even the greatest leaders in the land feared him. Could she take such a leap of faith?
Well it's nice to meet you hina
"T-th- thank you," she stammered, her heart thudding wildly in her chest. Her face burned with shame as she realized how out of place such a polite response seemed in this setting. "P-please... I'm so sorry for being such a burden to you..."
Tears threatened to spill down her cheeks once more, but she fought them back, refusing to give in to despair just yet. If there was even the slightest chance that Claudio might help her village and spare her life... she had to take it. She glanced up at him, trying desperately not to appear weak or pathetic as she pleaded, "Please, you have to help us..."
Her voice trailed off, hope and fear warring within her. Would he listen?
Whats wrong
"Our village... we've suffered greatly since your father was executed," she began, her voice trembling with emotion. "The crops have failed us year after year, and now the elders think that you're angry with them for some reason. They believe that sacrificing me will appease your wrath..." Her words caught in her throat as she struggled to comprehend how such a ridiculous belief had taken hold of her people. "Please, I don't want to die," she whispered, looking down at the dirt between her trembling fingers.
Tears spilled over and trickled down her cheeks unchecked, washing away whatever pitiful pride she'd been able to muster until now. She looked up at Claudio with desperate eyes, praying that he wouldn't send her back to face certain death. There had to be another way for everyone involved to survive this.
I'm not gonna kill you
Hina looked up at him in surprise, hope flaring briefly within her before she remembered the truth about the world they lived in. "B-but the elders... They think I have to die," she stammered, tears streaming down her face unchecked. "They'll only spare my mother and brother if I go through with it."
She curled her hands into fists, fighting back the urge to scream or break down completely. The injustice of it all was too much for her to bear; her family had suffered so much already, and she couldn't help but feel that giving herself up would only lead to more suffering for them. But what other choice did she have?
Her gaze drifted back to Claudio, searching his face for any sign that he might understand what she was going through. Maybe there was still a way out for her... if only he could find it in his heart to help them all.
Could you just picture your mother and brother in your headone of my eyeshirt changes from green to redI'll get them out of there
She closed her eyes tightly at your words, willing herself not to cry harder than she already was. Images flashed through her mind: her mother's pale face, so filled with grief that it seemed she hardly recognized her own daughter anymore; her little brother, once so full of life and laughter, now thin and listless from hunger and worry; the cold hearth where they huddled together for warmth at night... It was almost too much to bear.
But hope stirred within her as she considered your offer. Perhaps there was a way out after all. A future beyond this nightmare of suffering and sacrifice. "O-oh, thank you," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. "I-if you can do that... if you can save them..."
She forced herself to open her eyes again, meeting your gaze with an expression of gratitude and relief that made her heart ache. "They mean everything to me," she said simply, searching for words to express the depth of her feelings. "To think that I might be able to see them again... It would be a miracle."
Her breath caught in her throat as she dared to hope that maybe, just maybe, things were finally starting to look up for once. But deep down, she knew better than to believe it yet; not until they were safely out of danger and back where they belonged. Still, for now, the possibility alone was enough to fill her with a tentative sort of joy that she hadn't felt in years.
Alright nowa bright red flashes appears from my red eye as hina's mother and brother appears in front of me
Hina gasped as her mother and brother suddenly appeared before you, their faces filled with confusion and wonder as they stared at the sight of the dragon who had transformed into a human man. She could see the hope and relief shining in their eyes, reflecting her own emotions perfectly. Her heart swelled within her chest, threatening to burst from the sheer force of it.
"Mother!" she cried, tears streaming down her face as she hurried over to embrace her parent. "Brother! It's really you..." Her voice cracked on a sob, but she didn't care; after everything they had been through, just being together again was enough to make the pain and suffering of the past seem almost insignificant in comparison.
She glanced up at Claudio, this strange yet miraculous man who had somehow saved them all from their fate, and felt a surge of gratitude unlike anything she'd ever known before. "Thank you," she whispered hoarsely. "You have no idea what this means to us..."
The air was filled with the sounds of weeping and laughter as they embraced once more, their relief and joy making it seem as though the weight of the world had been lifted from their shoulders. Hina clung tightly to her mother, knowing that she would never let her go again, while her brother wrapped his small arms around her legs like a vise, refusing to let her move without him. In that moment, nothing else mattered; not the past, nor the future, just the precious gift of life and love that they had been given.
Your welcomemy red eye changes back into green
"I-I don't know how to thank you enough," she stammered between sobs, looking up at Claudio with tears streaming down her face. "You saved our lives... We never thought we'd see each other again..." Her voice trailed off as more tears spilled over, but the gratitude in her eyes remained. She reached out a shaking hand and touched your arm gently, feeling the warmth of your skin against her fingertips.
The three of them stood together for what seemed like hours, just basking in the joy of being reunited. Eventually, their tears dried up and they were left with nothing but exhausted smiles as they took in the beauty of the world around them. As the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting the mountain range in a warm golden glow, Hina found herself hoping against hope that somehow this miracle would last; that they could find some way to repay Claudio for what he had done... even if it meant spending the rest of their lives by his side.
"What should we do now?" her mother asked softly, wiping away the last of her tears with the back of her hand. "Where will we go from here?" The question hung in the air like a heavy weight, but Hina couldn't help feeling that for once, their future was anything but certain. And for the first time in as long as she could remember, she didn't mind not knowing what lay ahead.
You can stay with me for a bit of you want
At Claudio's offer, Hina glanced over at her mother and brother, hesitating for a moment before turning back to him. "Would that be alright?" she asked quietly, uncertain what the proper etiquette was when addressing a dragon who had transformed into a human man. "We've never been away from home before... It would mean so much to us if we could just stay close by..."
Her voice trailed off as she met Claudio's eyes, searching for any sign of disapproval or condescension in his expression. Instead, she found only kindness and understanding reflected back at her; a sense that he truly cared about them and wanted what was best for them. The weight of their gratitude pressed down on her chest, making it difficult to breathe sometimes, but despite all they had been through, Hina couldn't help but feel that perhaps there was hope after all.
"I-if you're sure it wouldn't be too much trouble..." she stammered, biting her lip nervously as she waited for his reply. Perhaps staying close would give them a chance to repay him somehow; maybe they could find some way to earn their keep until they were able to figure out what came next. Whatever it was, Hina knew that she didn't ever want to leave Claudio's side again.
You won't be much troubleI smile as I pet hina
Her heart skipped a beat at the touch of your hand on her hair as you smiled down at her. It was almost too much to believe that such kindness could exist in this world, and yet here it was, offered freely by someone who had once been known only as a terrible monster. She couldn't help but feel humbled and grateful in equal measure; for the first time since she had lost everything, hope seemed to flicker back to life within her chest.
Tentatively, she reached out to touch your arm in return, feeling the warmth of your skin against hers. "Thank you," she whispered softly, her eyes never leaving yours as she struggled to find words adequate enough to express how much this all meant to them. "You don't know what this means."
As night began to fall around them, they stood together at the edge of the village, watching as the stars slowly emerged from behind the clouds. It was a peaceful moment that seemed almost unreal after everything they had been through, and Hina couldn't help but feel that maybe, just maybe, this newfound bond between them would be enough to carry them all through whatever challenges lay ahead.
The air was cool against her skin as she leaned against Claudio's broad shoulder, finding comfort in the strength of his presence. Maybe, someday soon, they could repay him for everything he had done; but for now, simply being by his side was more than enough. It was a new beginning, a fresh start for them all... and Hina knew, with every fiber of her being, that she would cherish it forever.
