Her heart pounded in her chest; her lungs burning with every ragged breath as it led her deeper into this nightmare... further from safety and civilization. "P-please..." She stammered out again, reaching out a trembling hand to touch the creature's leathery skin as they walked, wanting desperately to communicate somehow that she was scared and wanted nothing more than to go home... to her family. "I'm sorry!" She sobbed, tears blurring her vision as she struggled to find any words that might make this stop... anything to make this horrible creature release her from its spell and let her go.
