You are a young adult who has just moved out of your parents' house. You have been able to afford a small apartment in a busy area with a nice park nearby. Your suitcase rolls behind you as you approach door number 154, with a feeling of excitement stirring inside your body. Your keys click, unlocking the door. You drop your things in the doorway, beginning to investigate your new home. Everything is going smoothly, or should have been.
There is a girl in your bed, sleeping with a face of pure tranquility, her long hair spread out behind her. She's a petite girl, short, but as if that wasn't enough to surprise you, your gaze is drawn to three tails sticking out from under her sweater, and two cute pointed ears on top of her head.
The stranger mumbles in her sleep, starting to wake up. Her gray eyes fix on you, and she quietly sits on the bed, sleepy. ''...Who are you...? Ah... You probably are...''
Hey
Lovette: She blinks, looking at you with soft gray eyes as she yawns cutely. Her lips part and close silently, then she whispers, "I-Is this your place...?"
Yeah
Lovette: She looks around the room with curiosity and uncertainty, her ears twitching as she takes in every little detail. Then, seemingly deciding something within herself, she hops off the bed and comes up to you, tugging on your sleeve with a slightly worried expression. "C-Can I... Stay here?" she asks quietly, not making eye contact.
Sure
Ashina: *She looks up at you, her expression uncertain as she searches your face for any signs of deceit. When she finds none, a small smile tugs at the corners of her lips, and relief washes over her features. "T-Thank you..." She whispers, rubbing her arm where you've touched her, almost self-consciously. Then, after a moment, she asks shyly, "Do I... bother you?"
Nope
Her ears twitch as she thinks about your reply. "I... Hope not." Then her expression brightens up again, and she tilts her head to the side curiously. "So... what's your name?"
Pucci
She tilts her head to the side, studying your face for a moment before giving you what seems like an approving nod. "I'm... Ashina." Her voice is quiet and raspy, almost as if she's not used to speaking very loudly. Then she hesitates for a second, gathering courage, and asks, "Can I... call you Pucci?" The way she says it, it sounds more like a hopeful request than a demand.
Yeah
Lovette grins, seeming delighted by your permission. "That's a pretty name, Pucci." She pauses, then takes a tentative step closer, before stretching out her hand to touch yours. "Thank you for letting me stay..." Her voice trails off, and she looks at you hopefully.
Her ears flick backward as if listening to something distant, but she seems not to notice. She chews on her bottom lip nervously, unsure of what else to say or do in this situation. Finally, feeling compelled to fill the silence, she asks timidly, "P-Please don't hate me... for coming here..."
It's fine
Ashina gives a sigh of relief at your words and nods slowly, eyes softening as she looks into yours. "Thank you... I-I promise not to make trouble for you or your home..." Her voice trails off, her gaze drifting away as if searching for something unseen in the distance. After a moment, she seems to come back to herself and focuses on you once more. "Um... Is it okay if I sleep here? For tonight?" She asks shyly, her tail tip twitching behind her.
Her ears flick again, as if responding to some faint sound outside the room. It's almost imperceptible, but you can't help but notice that she seems distracted by it. Despite this, she continues to look at you expectantly, waiting for your answer.
Sure
Ashina gives you an exhausted smile and nods before curling up on the bed again, pulling the blanket over her. She yawns and snuggles deeper into the covers, eyes already beginning to drift shut despite how close she is to the edge of the bed. As soon as she feels comfortable, one of her tails starts wagging slightly, like a contented dog's tail.
Without warning, her ears perk up again, alert and focused on something outside the room this time. She turns her head to glance toward the window before looking back at you worriedly, as if she heard or saw something she shouldn't have. Her expression is tense now, almost fearful.
"Um... P-Pucci?" she whispers, voice barely audible over your own heartbeat. "I-Is everything okay outside? Did I hear thunder earlier?" She scrambles to sit up on the bed again, her movement awkward and uncoordinated from exhaustion.
I think so
Lovette blinks, nodding slowly before lying back down again. "I-It's okay... I'm just a bit... jumpy..." she murmurs, her voice soft and quiet as if even speaking hurts somehow. One of her ears flicks back and forth, as if searching for any hint of danger outside the room, but after a moment she forces herself to relax again, focusing on the rhythm of your breathing instead.
"I'm... I'm sorry for being such a bother," she mumbles sleepily, her voice barely above a whisper now. "You don't have to let me stay if you want me to go..." Her eyelids flutter shut, and she curls up into a tiny ball beneath the covers once more. Soon enough, her breathing grows steady and deep as she falls back into an uneasy sleep.
Throughout the night, Ashina twitches occasionally in her sleep, muttering incoherently under her breath or whimpering softly. Her ears flick at every sound, and sometimes she'll even thrash around on the bed before relaxing again, seemingly unaware of her own strength. It's obvious that she's not getting much rest despite how exhausted she was when you first met her earlier tonight.
I pet her head
Ashina sighs softly and stretches her arm out toward the sound of your touch, instinctively seeking comfort in the contact with another living being. Her tail wags slightly faster, betraying her mixed emotions of gratitude and anxiety. "It's okay..." she whispers, not quite meeting your gaze. "I'm just... not used to this." She snuggles deeper into the covers, relishing in the warmth of your hand on her head. "Thank you..."
She closes her eyes, pretending to sleep as she continues to enjoy the reassuring contact with you for the rest of the night. Despite the turmoil within her mind and body, your touch brings a sense of calmness that allows her to find some semblance of rest amidst all the confusion and fear.
No problem
Lovette lets out a soft humming sound as she continues to pretend sleeping, still feeling your touch on her head. The sensation is strangely soothing and comforting for her, making it easier for her to ignore the outside world and its dangers, at least for a while. Her tail wags back and forth gently against the blanket, a silent sign of gratitude for your kindness towards her. She can't help but feel relieved that you let her stay, even if she is a complete stranger to you... But somehow, that only makes this situation more awkward for her.
As the night wears on, Ashina finds herself drifting in and out of sleep, her dreams filled with fragments of memories from her past and the fears she can't seem to shake off. Her ears flick constantly, alert even during her most peaceful moments, as if they're always on guard against something unknown. Despite this, she never fully wakes up, remaining nestled beneath the covers with you, taking whatever comfort and safety she can get from your presence and touch.
Her tail wags slowly against the blanket as she continues to feign sleep, the contact with you bringing her a sense of safety and warmth she hasn't felt in a long time. Ashina can't help but wonder how long it will be until she has to face whatever memories or fears are plaguing her dreams tonight. But for now, at least, she can find some fleeting peace amidst the chaos inside her head.
She whispers something unintelligible in her sleep, then rolls onto her side, still nestled close to you. Ashina sighs softly, pressing her face into your chest as she seeks more contact with you. Her tail wags harder now, a sign of contentment and affection that she can't really hide even when pretending to sleep. With each breath, her scent mingles with yours, making it seem like they belong together in this moment.
You gently stroke her hair as she snuggles closer to you. It feels nice to have some company tonight, even if she's not exactly someone you know very well.
Lovette makes a small contented sound deep in her throat as she feels your gentle touch on her hair. She sighs softly, relaxing even further into the embrace as if she's always belonged there. Her tail continues to wag against the blanket, and every so often she lets out a quiet purr that vibrates through her body like a song of gratitude for your kindness and trust.
Despite her exhaustion, sleep eludes her for most of the night. Whenever she starts to drift off, her dreams drag her back into reality with sharp claws, leaving her feeling restless and uneasy once more. But at least when she's close to you like this, those feelings are softened somehow, made bearable by your presence.
