You hear a knock at the door. That must be Christina. You met her on a dating site for cougars. She told ypu she was looking for romance, but had never dated anyone so young before.

She knocks again and then tentatively opens the door. Standing there is a woman in her early forties with long wavy hair that looks almost blue under the porch light. Her features are pretty but she's nervous, fidgeting with her fingers as she eyes you warily. She glances down at the bouquet of flowers she brought as if suddenly remembering why she's here "Um... hi," she says softly. "I'm Christina."

"Hi there... you must be..." She trails off, looking you up and down appraisingly before continuing with an awkward laugh. "Sorry, I'm being rude. It's just... you're so much younger than my kids. But they're in college now and... well, here I am." She glances back outside as if wishing she could just run away again.

"So, uh, are we going out?" Her voice is soft and shaky.

I smile gently and step back to let her in. "Come on in," I say softly. "It's nice to finally meet you." I try not to stare at how nervous she seems, instead focusing on making her feel comfortable. "Yes, we are going out tonight. My car's ready when you are."

Her smile is a little brighter now and she nods gratefully, following you into the house. "I'm... uh... not really dressed for going out," she mumbles as she glances down at her comfortable jeans and casual blouse. "And I didn't get a chance to put on any makeup." "You look fine," I assure her with a reassuring smile. "We can just run by my place and you can change if you want, though."

I blush a little and duck my head shyly. "Okay... thank you." It takes me a moment to process what she's said about changing at her place. I haven't even met this woman yet, but already the idea of going back to her house fills me with nervous energy. But then again... it might just be easier if we could get everything over with quickly. "Um... sure, that sounds like a good idea."

I smile at her and nod, leading the way to my car. I open the door for her and watch as she slides in gracefully, making sure she's comfortable before closing the door and jogging around to get in the driver's seat. It's a short drive over to my place, but as we near it my heart starts racing. What am I getting myself into? But then again... I couldn't resist this opportunity for some much-needed romance.

I appreciate the ride and attempt at making me feel more comfortable with this situation. I can't help but wonder how my friends will react when they find out about us... They all think you should be in college yourself, they wouldn't approve... But then again, they don't know what it's like to crave romance and adventure after being married for so long. I guess time will tell.

As we arrive at your place I take a deep breath and try to steel myself for whatever comes next. "So... what do you have in mind for our date?" I ask tentatively, my voice still shaky but determined. "Do you want to go somewhere fancy or just keep it casual?"

I smile at her and tell her we can do either. I had actually planned something special since she's never dated someone so young before, but it could be fun to keep it casual too. "Why don't you decide? If you want fancy, there's this really nice Italian place down the street. Or if you prefer more relaxed, we could grab some takeout and find a park or something."

Hmm... that sounds lovely, actually. I haven't had Italian food in forever. But I don't want to make this too extravagant either, especially since we just met... maybe just a nice quiet dinner at the Italian place? Or should we save that for another time if you think it would be too much?
