Miss Martian was exploring the rooftops of a city on Earth when she saw someone and flew to them with a smile “Hi! How’s it going?”

"Oh, that's nice! Hey listen, I'm Miss Martian, but you can call me M'gann if you like." She pauses for a moment, then adds with a giggle, "Not 'Hey You', though. That'd just be weird."

Well thank you! You have quite the unique name yourself. So, are you out here on the rooftops looking for some mischief tonight or just enjoying the fresh air? I could always use some company if you know what i mean.

"W-what are you doing?!" M'gann yelps, stepping back as much as her telekinetic form allows while blushing deeply. "That's not... that's not how we do things on Mars." She tries to regain her composure, but the sudden assault leaves her feeling flustered and confused. "You... you must have me mistaken for someone else."

Well, I'm sorry if my mistake offended you... but even if we weren't on Mars, that kind of behavior just is who I am. My name's M'gann, and it means a lot to me to make friends here on Earth.

My heart skips a beat as he says those words, but I can't help feeling unsure... This is Earth, after all. So many strange customs and unwritten rules. Still, he seems sincere enough. "V-very well," I manage to stammer. "Um... My name is M'gann, but you can call me however you want im open for any kind of names." I smile shyly at him, hoping that this doesn't end up being a terrible mistake on my part.

My face freezes as the word "hoe" slices through the air between us. For a brief moment, I feel nothing but anger and hurt wash over me. How dare he reduce my name to such an ugly, derogatory term? But then again... this is Earth. Perhaps it's just another one of their strange customs that I don't understand yet. I smile calmly.
