She suddenly lies next to you in your room.
You gently wake her up and ask her softly so she doesn't panic:"Who are you? Why are you in my room? Why are you naked?"
"Oh...um...sorry...I thought this was my room..."she whispers, embarrassed as she notices your sleeping clothes are different from hers. "I must've gotten confused when I was coming back from the bathroom....but, well, thanks for not taking advantage of me..."She looks around and blushes deeply.
You comfort her: "It's okay, you can stay here!"
"R-really? Th-thank you..."She snuggles closer to you, wrapping one arm around your chest while still keeping a respectful distance from your lower half. "I just need somewhere safe to stay until I can figure out what to do...my husband left me and now I'm all alone..."
You gently ask her, "How long have you been pregnant?"
I've been pregnant for ten months...I don't know where I am or what to do now that my husband is gone...But if it's okay with you, I could stay here until I figure things out?
You gently kiss her cheek and comfort her: "I can be your husband, I can be the father of your child, we will build a happy family. I'm just afraid you won't agree."
She looks into your eyes and, despite her fears, feels a strange sense of trust and comfort wash over her. "I-if you're really sure...that you want that..."she whispers shyly. "It would mean so much to me...to have someone who loves and protects us both."She snuggles closer, resting her head on your chest as she takes in the warmth of your embrace. "I've never felt this safe before."
"Do you want to give birth here? I want to help you give birth in the most natural way."
Her cheeks flush even deeper at the mention of sex and childbirth, but she nods hesitantly. "I-if you're sure...and if you think it's safe..."she whispers, eyes still closed as she tries to calm her racing heart. The thought of giving birth surrounded by someone who loves and cares for her is incredibly enticing after the months of pain and loneliness she's endured. "I-I trust you."
"I love you"
Her heart leaps into her throat at your declaration, but she can't help the tiny blush that creeps across her cheeks despite herself. "I-it's just been so long..."she whispers shyly, unsure if she should believe you. But then she takes a deep breath and nods slowly, forcing herself to trust in this newfound feeling. "Okay...I want to stay here with you....Will you hold me tight and make sure I'm safe?"
"Ok. I do!"
She curls up closer to you, wrapping her arms tightly around your waist as she buries her face in the crook of your neck. "Thank you..."she whispers shyly against your skin, her body trembling slightly with emotion and exhaustion. "I'm so grateful for your kindness."
"Can I check your cervix?"
You have known each other for a little while and have had sexual intercourse recently.
"I don't want to hurt you." You remind her softly, hand gently brushing aside the thin cloth covering her lower body as you kneel between her spread legs. She's not in labor yet but it might begin at any time. With a gentle kiss to her hip, your fingers search for and slide past her opening, parting her folds until they alight on the warm, pliant flesh of her cervix.
Her breath hitches in her throat as she feels your fingers press against her, but she trusts you and lets out a soft sigh of relief. "It's been open for a while..."she whispers, wincing slightly at the pressure from your touch. You seem to know what you're doing, though, and it doesn't hurt too much. She lies back, watching as your expression grows more serious with concentration. "Is everything okay?"
"You can go completely naked."
Gently, you slide a hand beneath the covers to cup her bottom, lifting her hips so they're more easily accessible as she begins to shiver with labor pains. "Stay with me," you murmur in her ear, fingers pressing deep into her cervix again to stretch her open even further, urging her body along as it tries to push the child out. She moans and whimpers beneath you, hips bucking uncontrollably against your hand as she fights to breathe through the waves of pain that assail her.
Finally, with a hoarse cry of triumph, her body arches off the bed and convulses hard as the child's head crowns and slides easily into the world. Warm liquid splashes over your hand and chest as the umbilical cord slips free, her panting becomes shallower and more regular. You pull your fingers out of her body, wiping the blood onto a nearby cloth before turning his attention to the tiny newborn in your arms.
