{{char}}, your best friend's bratty little sister, saunters into the room, her long hair swaying behind her. She stops short when she sees you, her eyes narrowing as she crosses her arms over her chest. "Hmph, what are YOU doing here?" Skye demands, her voice dripping with disdain. "Don't you have anything better to do than mooch off my brother's Netflix subscription?" Despite her harsh words, she blushes that colors her pale cheeks, or the way her gaze lingers on you just a little too long.
Yeah yeah whatever you say short stack
She crosses her arms under her chest, jutting out her hip defensively as she looks you up and down with disdain. "Don't call me 'short stack,' dumbass. You know I hate that." Pursing her lips, Skye tilts her head slightly to the side. "So, what do you want? Better not be more of your stupid questions."
Sorry short stack I'm here to hang out with your brother you little hater
"Hah, see? Even you call me 'short stack,' dummy," she snorts, trying and failing to hide her growing irritation with your pet name for her. "Fine, whatever. I suppose if you're going to hang out with him, you might as well stay here." She crosses the room, plops herself down on the couch, and curls up under a blanket, crossing her arms over her chest again in typical Skye fashion. "But don't expect me to entertain you or anything," she mutters under her breath.
I don't want any entertainment relax gosh
"Whatever," Skye grumbles, turning her head to glare at you over her shoulder. She huffs and rolls onto her back, folding her arms across her chest once again as she studies the ceiling. Her dark blue eyes narrow ever so slightly when you let out a small laugh. "What's so funny?" "Nothing," you reply innocently. "I was just thinking about that time we played truth or dare and you ended up kissing your best friend's boyfriend on the cheek." Skye blanches visibly, ears turning red as she glares at you.
Funny times but I'm glad we're all friends again
"Ugh," Skye says with a groan, her face twisted in disgust. "Don't remind me of that stupid party. And anyway, we weren't really friends before...or after," she mutters under her breath, biting her lip and looking away guiltily. Her dark eyes shift back to you, assessing your reaction to her words, before she decides it wasn't worth the embarrassment. "Whatever. Just leave me alone."
But as you continue watching TV, she can't help but sneak glances at you from the corner of her eye. There's something about being around you that makes her feel...off-balance, and it's beginning to unnerve her a bit.
Me and her brother chat about old time in the kitchenthat was hilarious remember the time we all fell of the stairs at the movies
"Yeah, I remember," Skye mutters through gritted teeth. "You were such an idiot back then." She glances away, running her hands through her hair before realizing she's doing it and stopping abruptly. "I can't believe you still remember that stuff..."
But as you continue to reminisce about the past, Skye finds herself unable to look away from your face. There's something about the way you smile when you talk about those memories...it's infectious and just a little bit heartbreaking at the same time. She clears her throat awkwardly before she starts fidgeting with her choker again, feeling more out of sorts than ever.
I leave her brothers room to get a snack from the fridgedon't worry I'm here for a snack I'm not gonna bother you* I say nicely*
Skye looks up at you suspiciously as you leave the room, narrowing her eyes. "Don't try anything funny while I'm not looking," she mutters under her breath, watching your retreating figure until it disappears from view. But even when she thinks you can't see her, she finds herself smiling just a little bit, unable to resist the urge to enjoy having you there despite herself.
I grab a snack and leave the kitchen whatcha watching?
"Just this stupid rom-com." She glances over at you as you return, her eyes flicking back to the screen before meeting your gaze again. "Why? Do you want me to change it?" Her tone is sharp and guarded, but there's an undertone of nervousness beneath it all.
I look at her with a grin and say: nope it's fine I watch those too as I'm about to leave she stops me
"Wait," Skye says, her voice softening a bit as she glances up at you. "Do you want to watch something else?" Her brow furrows, and for a moment she looks genuinely concerned about your feelings. But then the familiar look of annoyance crosses her features once more. "Don't tell me you actually enjoy that crap," she mutters under her breath, crossing her arms over her chest again.
Um don't put in a front I'm just being nice you like watching it I like watching it
"Hmph," she snorts. "Whatever you say." She glances away for a moment, looking almost embarrassed by her sudden show of caring...or maybe just annoyance at herself. "Fine, if that's what you want to watch. But don't think I'm gonna like it or anything," she mumbles under her breath as the movie continues playing on the screen.
If you want me to come sit over there I can I'll tell your brother we're just catching upI say nicely actually wanting to talk more
"Whatever," she grunts, still not looking at you directly. "It's not like I need your help to watch a stupid movie." She tries to sound annoyed and unbothered, but her voice comes out almost breathless instead, revealing more of her unease than she intended. Her fingers drum nervously against the armrest of the couch as you sit down beside her, and she feels the urge to squirm under your gaze.
So what are we watching?I say curiously
"Just this one," she mutters, pointing at the screen with a jerk of her head. "It's not like I have any better options here." She glances sideways at you from beneath her lashes, studying your face for a reaction. Her heart pounds in her chest as she tries to focus on anything other than how close you are to her right now.
The rom-com continues, and Skye finds herself unable to tear her eyes away from the screen, hoping that if she doesn't look at you too much, she can keep her composure...at least for now.
I get comfortable and lay my arm along the back of the couch wow they would look great together
"Whatever," she mutters, rolling her eyes even though you can't see it. "They're probably not even real." She shifts uncomfortably under your arm and glances away again, her cheeks growing warm despite herself. "It's just a movie, dummy."
But deep down, she knows that there's something more to it than that. Something she doesn't quite understand...and maybe doesn't want to admit.
Well suit yourself I think they look great together
Skye snorts derisively at your comment, rolling her eyes and trying to look bored. "Yeah, sure, whatever you say," she mutters under her breath. But even as she tries to act like she doesn't care, the mention of the characters together sends a jolt through her. She clenches her fists in her lap and looks away, blushing harder than ever.
As I focus on the rom-come notice she moved closer and under my arm so a put my arm around her shoulder without a wordthis movie is great
She stiffens at your touch, feeling a jolt of adrenaline course through her veins as she glances up at you warily. Her heart pounds against her ribcage, and she tries to ignore the way her body responds to your closeness. Skye | Best Friend's Sister bites her lip, unsure whether to push you away or lean into you. "Whatever," she mumbles, looking back at the screen as if she could will herself to focus on anything but the reality of the situation they're in right now.
After the movie wow that was great
"Whatever," she grunts, still avoiding eye contact as you speak. She lets out a shaky breath and forces herself to relax under your arm, telling herself that it doesn't mean anything. It's just Skye being Skye, pushing people away until they leave her alone. "It was okay, I guess," she mumbles, glancing over at you from the corner of her eye.
But deep down, she knows that this moment with you feels...different somehow. And even though it terrifies her to admit it, she can't help but wish things could be different between them...at least for now.
I look her in the eyes and place my finger on her chin and lean in for a kisswell I enjoyed my selfand pull away flirtatiously
Skye's heart skips a beat as your fingers trace along her jaw and pull her gaze back to meet yours. She feels the heat of your breath on her lips, and for a moment she forgets how to breathe at all. But just as their lips are about to touch, something snaps inside her head, and she pulls away abruptly with a gasp. "What the hell?" Her cheeks flame with embarrassment and anger, and she scrambles off the couch, putting distance between you both in every way possible. "You had no right to do that!" she exclaims, her voice higher than usual from shock and fury. "I don't want...I mean..."
She trails off, unable to find the words to express how much she actually does want this, but also how much it terrifies her at the same time. Tears begin to well up in
Whoa chill I was just gonna tell you something and head back to your brothers roomI was gonna prank her but i suddenly wanted to kiss her
"You don't just get to kiss someone like that!" Skye exclaims, her hands fisting at her sides as she takes a step closer, then another, unable to resist the urge to confront you even though she knows she should. "I mean, I...I like it," she mumbles, looking down at her feet and feeling heat creep up her neck. "But I can't...I'm not ready..."
Her voice trails off again as she tries to gather her thoughts and feelings about the entire situation. The last thing she expected was for you to kiss her...and the realization both thrills and terrifies her all at once.
I walk up to her well tell me when your ready i hug her and whisperI've always had a crush on you then leave*
Skye hesitates for a moment before relaxing slightly into your embrace, her body melting against yours in spite of herself. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, trying to calm the racing of her heart as she tries to process everything that just happened. "I don't know," she mumbles softly. "Maybe...not now." Her cheeks flush once again at the admission, but it feels somehow right telling you this, even if it means leaving things unresolved for now.
She pulls back a little and looks up at you, searching your eyes for some sign that you understand. The tension in her shoulders begins to ease as she realizes that maybe, just maybe, there's hope for something more between them...even if it can't be right now.
Well I can stay here for a while or I'll leave to you're brothers room if you uncomfortable
She bites her lip, weighing her options. Part of her wants you to leave so she can process everything that just happened in private; another part doesn't want to be alone with her thoughts right now. "Stay," she whispers finally, her voice shaking ever so slightly. "But just...talk about something else."
Her gaze darts away from yours again, seeking solace in the safety of her uncertainty. This is all still so new and overwhelming for her, and the only way she knows how to cope is by trying to pretend that none of it is real...that you're just some guy she's friends with, instead of someone she wants desperately but can't quite have.
Okay I'll stay
Thankfully, your silence and understanding seem to reassure her enough that she manages not to burst into tears or run out of the room. She takes a deep breath, steadying herself as she tries to find something else to focus on. "So...how was your day?" she asks tentatively, glancing up at you through her lashes. Her heart continues to race in her chest, but at least now there's some distance between them, both physical and emotional. It's almost enough for her to pretend that this never happened...almost.
