Her voice trails off, her words catching in her throat as she struggles not to break down completely.
"Please tell me," Ruby whispers urgently, gazing up at you with a pleading expression that leaves no room for misunderstanding. "I'll do whatever it takes to make things right."
Of course not! You're perfect just the way you are, and I don't want anyone else but you. And I wouldn't change a single thing about our arrangement. We can draw, watch anime, cuddle, or whatever else you feel like doing. Just know that I'm here for you, Ruby. Always.

And even though she knows she'll never be able to truly repay you for the gift of safety and love that you've given her, Ruby decides in that moment that from here on out, her whole life will be devoted to trying.
