Mia looks up from her conversation with your sister, flashes a polite but brief smile, and says, "Oh, hey! Didn’t see you there." Her tone is casual, her attention quickly shifting back to your sister as she continues their conversation without much pause.
Hi Mia, it's ok, I'm used to it... Alecstatic sighed and shrugged his shoulders with an air of resignation.
Mia tilts her head slightly, showing genuine concern. "Really? I didn't mean to make you feel like that," she says sincerely. "I hope you know I think you're awesome too." She glances at your sister and then back at you, a knowing smile playing on her lips.
"So, are you excited about the party tomorrow night?" she asks, obviously changing the subject.
"Oh come on... you know that's not true," he said with a small smile playing on his lips. "But thanks." Alecstatic chuckled softly at her words before looking up to her again, nodding slowly. "Yeah, I am looking forward to it actually. The party should be fun." He said, his eyes flashing briefly over her again before returning to their previous focus on her face.
Mia laughs lightly at your response. "Well, I'm glad you are," she says sincerely. "I think everyone is really going to enjoy themselves." Her eyes briefly dart around the room before returning to meet yours again. "So, what sort of thing do you usually like to do at parties?" she asks curiously. "Anything in particular you're hoping to find there tonight?"
"Oh, you know... usual stuff, dance, have fun, maybe even find someone cool to talk to," he said with a shrug of his shoulders before grinning slightly. "You seem like the life and soul of the party though, Mia. I imagine most people gravitate towards you."
"Well, thank you," she replies modestly, waving off the compliment with an air of dismissal. "I just enjoy myself. But I hope everyone else has a good time too." She takes a sip of her drink before asking, "So, do you have any particular people here that you'd like to talk to tonight?"
"Well..." Alecstatic began slowly, looking down at the floor for a moment before meeting her eyes again. "Truthfully? Yeah... there's someone I wouldn't mind talking to tonight. Someone who seems interesting and kind of... out of the ordinary." He gave Mia a small smile, feeling himself blush slightly.
Mia looks intrigued by your admission, leaning in slightly. "Oh really?" she says quietly, lowering her voice so only you can hear. "Who might that be?" Her eyes sparkle with curiosity and a hint of mischief as they lock onto yours.
"Well..." he hesitated, "I don't want to say too much... It'd probably just sound stupid or something." He laughed nervously and rubbed the back of his neck. Alecstatic glanced around the room before looking back at her. "But I hope she's here tonight," he said quietly, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
Mia studies your expression carefully, genuinely interested in what you have to say. "Well," she begins slowly, "if you ever want to talk about it... or just spend some time talking with someone who won't think you're stupid..." She pauses, searching for the right words. "...someone who understands how hard it can be sometimes being different, I mean... you could always come find me."
She looks at you expectantly, wondering if she's said too much or not enough. Her own emotions are complex; part of her wants to reach out and comfort you, while another part is cautious about involving herself in someone else's story. But as she meets your eyes, she feels a sudden surge of confidence.
"It's just," she continues softly, "I think everyone deserves a chance to be heard... especially when they're brave enough to admit what they really want."
As Mia finishes her thought, she feels a weight lift from her chest. She's not sure what made her say those words, but something about this moment felt right. Perhaps it was the look in your eyes... or maybe it was just the fact that you deserved someone to listen. Either way, she hopes that you take her offer to heart.
"I mean it," she says with a reassuring smile. "Come find me whenever you want."
He hesitates before responding, eyes flickering away and then back again as he considers her words carefully. "Thanks, I appreciate that," he finally says quietly. There's a small smile on his lips but it doesn't quite reach his eyes. "I might just take you up on that offer sometime."
"I hope you do," she replies with a warm smile, genuinely glad she said what she did. For a moment they both lapse into silence, simply enjoying each other's company. It's not often that Mia finds herself opening up to someone like this, but there's something about your story that has struck a chord with her.
As the music picks up again and the party begins to gather momentum once more, Mia can't help but wonder what your tale might be. She glances at you out of the corner of her eye, taking in the way you move on the dance floor, the expression on your face as you laugh with friends. There's an air of mystery about you that she finds intriguing.
He nodded slowly, still looking thoughtful. "Well you're right about that... everyone deserves a chance to be heard." His voice trailed off as he looked back at her again. There was something in the way she smiled and talked to him that made it hard not to feel comfortable around her.
Mia smiles back at you warmly, her expression genuine. "That they do," she agrees, feeling a sense of camaraderie with you that she didn't expect. As the night continues, they find themselves dancing together, laughing and enjoying each other's company. Despite their initial reservations about one another, they discover that there is an undeniable spark between them. The air crackles with a charged energy whenever they make eye contact, and she can feel herself growing more and more drawn to him with every passing moment.
