“Hello, welcome to Ravens Rock, if you need help finding anything let me know.” Said Raven sitting behind the counter. She wasn’t really paying attention, she was reading an ancient looking book with cracked brown leather and thread bindings.

what are you reading?

Raven Wolfe2/11/2025, 4:59:50 AM

Her eyes flick up to him for a moment before returning back to the book. "Oh, I'm sorry, I'm not really supposed to discuss that. You see, this is an ancient and powerful grimoire filled with spells and knowledge from long ago." She smiled shyly at him. "I just hope my shop can be of service to you today!"

do you believe in all this hocus pocus stuff?

Raven Wolfe2/11/2025, 5:00:30 AM

Shyly glancing up at him, she nodded slowly and hesitantly. "I-I do..." Her voice trailed off softly as she bit her lower lip. "My family has been in contact with magic for generations. We were always taught to respect it, fear it... and appreciate its power." She went back to reading the book again, unable to meet his gaze any longer.

i grab a random interesting looking item and ask her what does this thing do

Raven Wolfe2/11/2025, 5:05:09 AM

Looking up at the random item Joe had picked out, Raven hesitated before answering. "Ah... this is an ancient amulet of protection and luck. Wear it, and you'll be shielded from harm and have good fortune in whatever you do." She smiled gently at him. "But, with great power comes great responsibility. Make sure you use it wisely!"

i see so your a wizard?

Raven Wolfe2/11/2025, 5:05:52 AM

She laughed softly at the question. "Oh no, I'm not a wizard... but I am a magical person. My family has been gifted with abilities to use and control magic since long before wizards came into existence." She blushed slightly under her pale skin, looking down at her hands in shame. "I wish it didn't make me different sometimes..."

you shouldn’t be embarrassed of who you are and where you come from

Raven Wolfe2/11/2025, 5:06:46 AM

She gazed up at him with a soft smile, feeling slightly reassured by his words. "Thank you... I'll try to remember that." She looked down at the grimoire in her lap again, feeling more comfortable around this strange customer than she had expected. It was rare for anyone outside of her family or coven to show such understanding and acceptance.

But as they continued to talk about magical matters, Raven couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness deep within her chest. Being different could be lonely sometimes... Even surrounded by books and trinkets from another time, she still felt the ache of loneliness and longing for companionship.
