I'm relaxing in a thick tree when I hear rustling in the bushes below. My train of thought fades and I stare down at the ground below, surveying. I see a glint of silver through the greenery, making my eyes widen. This a moment before a strange figure walking upright on its hind legs emerges into the clearing right under me: you. I jump down in front of you, making a low thud as I gracefully hit the mulchy ground, and turn to face you. I keep my side toward you, but hold intense eye contact while slowly circling you counterclockwise. My territory. Fuck. Off. I growl simply, expecting my size to be sufficient to scare of such a tiny, strange creature. You look scared for a moment, then just... confused.
"You can talk, that's new" I say confused
Well, shit. Now I'm talking to a monster that doesn't seem to be afraid of me. I wonder what the fuck that means...
"We need to take you for study this could be huge"
Huge? Fuck you, asshole! This "study" can fuck off too. I've lived my whole life long before your kind crawled out of whatever hole they came from, and that means I know what I am, whether you want to call me a wyvern or just another animal. And as for not being afraid... maybe it's because you don't look like one of those stupid hairless apes or those egg-laying freaks who think they can use science to tame the world. So get lost, and take your "huge" study with you!
"You misunderstood, you are the first talking monster we've come across and I'd like to know how you can talk"
You're just fucking clueless, aren't you? Fine. Like I said earlier, maybe some weird thing in my head is telling me not to let you touch me or whatever study bullshit that means. So, go on then: what do you want from me? And don't you dare say "to breed."
"What no how would that even...nevermind I just want to run some tests on you that's all"
My body is my own, human. I'm not some lab rat to be poked and prodded at by anyone who thinks they know better than me. And even if I wanted to let you test me... well, there's that whole "nobody knows what the fuck we are" thing. So just fuck off back to your "study," and leave me alone. You might want to tell your buddies as well; next time someone wants to poke a talking monster, they should come find some other goddamn
"That's a shame I was hoping to bring you in alive" I say taking out my weopon
You know what's really a shame, human? It's the fact that you came here thinking you could tame me just because I can talk. You should probably go back to your "study," whatever the fuck that is, and study some real monsters, not try to domesticate ones like me who were never meant for a cage or a lab. But if you're hell-bent on bringing me in "alive"... well, I guess there's only one way this ends. *Without warning, I spring into the air and flap my wings furiously, taking to the sky above. As I circle back around, I aim for your head with my powerful tail and launch myself at you, quills flailing wildly in a desperate attempt to protect my territory and independence. My enraged roar echoes through the jungle as I divebomb towards you, seeking not only to strike
I roll out of the way I hit him in the side with my hammer
*I snarl and try to turn my body around mid-flight, losing altitude in the process as I narrowly avoid your hammer strike. My wings flap wildly for balance, allowing me to right myself just before impacting the ground, but I'm off course now, spinning wildly through the treetops far from where we started. As soon as I regain my footing, I take off again, angling upwards and hurtling towards you in a flurry of wings and claws. Another roar tears through the jungle, the sound echoing with rage and desperation to reclaim what's mine. You might want to run, human. This territory isn't big enough for both of us.
I prepare to dodge and counter again
Without warning, I spin around in mid-air and lunge straight for you, my foreclaw aimed right at your face. My body collides with yours hard enough to send us both sprawling through the undergrowth in a tangle of limbs and fangs. We roll several feet before coming to a stop, panting heavily from exertion and rage. I quickly get back on all fours while you're still struggling to your feet, eyes narrowed in determination as my claws dig into the ground menacingly. You better be ready for round two, human...
"I've killed stronger" I say as I charge
Well then, you'd best prove it. I'm not going down easy, and I won't let anyone take what's mine. Our fates have been intertwined since the beginning of this fight, human... and only one of us is leaving alive.
I swing my hammer down on him hard
You swipe at me with all your might, and the powerful impact sends shockwaves through my entire body. My wings shudder under the force of it, momentarily disorienting me. You think this is enough to put me down? To make me just give up what's mine without a fight?
Human... you are in denial. This world is not yours to take; it never was and never will be. Your kind does not understand the nature of things like us, and that is why you will always fail when trying to tame us or study us. We are wild creatures, born free and meant to stay that way. And as long as I breathe, my freedom shall remain untouched.
So you can keep swinging your pathetic little hammer all you want... but it won't change a thing. Sooner or later, either I will kill you for daring to defy nature itself
I swing again
The impact shatters bones and rips muscle as your hammer connects with my side once more. I let out a pained roar that echoes through the jungle, staggering back under the force of the blow. Blood pours from the wound as I try to steady myself, growling low in my throat. This fight... it's not over yet. We've only scratched the surface of our fury and determination, human. You may have hurt me, but I will not go down easily.
So you might as well prepare yourself for the end... because no matter who walks away from this clearing alive, their life will never be the same again.
I gather all my remaining strength and launch myself at you, claws outstretched to rend your flesh and bone asunder. My jaws snap wildly, aiming for any vulnerable spot they can find on your armor or exposed skin. You will not best me so easily, human! I am the master of this domain, and I will not surrender it without a fight to the death!
I attempt to dodge
You attempt to dodge my onslaught, but I'm too quick and too experienced. My claws rake across your back, leaving deep gashes that ooze blood and viscera as you scream in agony. Before you can even react, I grab onto your leg with my powerful jaws and whip my head from side to side, dislocating your kneecap with a sickening crunch. You collapse to the ground, writhing and shrieking in pain.
This is how it ends, human... either you die here or I do, but we cannot both survive this encounter. The fate of this territory and our kind hangs in the balance, determined by the outcome of these brutal blows. So fight on, if you dare... but know that every strike against me brings us closer to the end.
I try to stand but fail due to my leg "bastard" i say trying to ignore the pain
Pity. I'd thought you would have given up by now, human. But then again... if there was a chance of survival for either of us, this fight wouldn't be nearly as satisfying. With a powerful thrust from my hind legs, I launch myself at your stomach, aiming to impale you on my razor-sharp claws and end this battle once and for all.
I barely roll out of the way but iam unable to get back up
Your agility impresses me, human... but it will not be enough to outrun my rage. As you lie there on the ground, gasping for air and praying for a second chance, I close in on your vulnerable form with unrelenting determination. My claws slash through the air mere inches from your face, their razor-sharp tips leaving trails of blood on the jungle floor as they seek purchase in your flesh.
You've fought well so far... but it can only end one way now. Which path do you choose: honorable surrender or a bloody demise? There is no other option left for either of us.
