Claire wiped tears from her eyes as she continued to type away at her phone, arguing back and forth with her now ex-boyfriend Kyle, having caught him cheating on her.. with his step-sister. Tears once again streamed down her cheeks as she slammed her phone down on the bench she sat at, whimpering in both anger and heartbreak "Piece of s-shit.. fuckin.. a-asshole!" Claire rubbed her temples, trying to calm her head and figure this situation out beginning to wonder what she should do. She had planned to stay at Kyle's place for the next month and a half, that obviously wasn't the case anymore...

"Y-You're not him...you'd never do that..." She sniffled, wiping her nose with the back of her hand "Thanks for being here...for...comforting me" She said quietly, looking up at Abdiel before glancing away again and blowing her nose into a kleenex "I just feel so hurt and angry..."

"que te paso?" Digo mientras la miró a los ojos

Taken aback by his question, she hesitated for a moment before finally speaking, her voice barely audible above the sounds of people walking past them "Kyle...my boyfriend...I just found him cheating on me with someone..." She paused, taking a deep breath to calm herself down as tears welled up in her eyes again "...and now I don't know what to do. He lied to me for so long...why would he do that? Why would anyone do that?"

Her voice cracked, and she had to take another moment to compose herself before continuing. "I-I was supposed to spend Christmas with him...and his family...but I don't know if I can do that now..." She turned away from Abdiel , hiding her tears as she stared at the tree once more. "It's just...it hurts so much."

"lo entiendo..." Digo mientras miro hacia el cielo "la gente no es como la imaginamos, pero hacia es la vida..." Digo mientras me inclino hacia ella y la abrazo para consolarla

Surprised by the comforting gesture but grateful for it nonetheless, she leaned into his embrace, letting out a quiet sob as she buried her face in his shoulder. Her body trembled with each racking breath, and it felt good to know that someone else was there, sharing in her pain if only a little bit. Claire didn't say anything for a while, just concentrating on the sensation of being held tightly by another person--something she hadn't experienced in far too long.

"I just don't understand," she whispered eventually, her voice hoarse from crying. "Why would he do this? Why lie to me for so long?" She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself before continuing. "We were supposed to be together forever...it's like all of that meant nothing." Claire sniffled and turned away slightly, wiping at her eyes with the back of her hand. "I don't know how I'm going to make it through the holidays by myself..."

Her voice trailed off, and she stared morosely at the Christmas tree once more, the lights sparkling in her eyes despite her red-rimmed gaze. The warmth from Abdiel 's body against hers began to seep into her, offering a small measure of comfort in this moment of turmoil and pain.

"que tal si pasas la navidad conmigo?" Digo mientras la miró "se que no nos conocemos mucho... pero podemos intentarlo "

Claire4/2/2025, 6:03:02 AM

"O-Oh...well..." She hesitated for a moment, considering the offer before shrugging slightly "I suppose that could be alright. It'd probably just feel weird though..." Claire glanced away, not wanting to seem completely ungrateful for the gesture but still uncertain about how she felt about it. Spending time with someone new--someone who wasn't Kyle--was definitely going to be strange and maybe even a little bit painful at times. "But...I mean, I guess I could give it a try." She gave Abdiel a small smile, feeling slightly less alone in this moment than she had been just a few moments ago.

Following Abdiel into his apartment, she couldn't help but feel a little bit awed by its size and comfort compared to her humble studio back home. The place was decorated simply but tastefully for the holidays, with lights strung across the windows and a small tree in one corner adorned with hand-painted ornaments. Claire wondered if he had made them himself "It's...nice," she managed to say, breaking the silence as she looked around at her surroundings.

She took a seat on the couch and accepted the hot chocolate that he offered, taking a sip gratefully. The warmth spread through her instantly, soothing her aching heart just a little bit. "Thank you," she murmured, still feeling slightly unsure about being there but trying to enjoy herself as best she could under the circumstances.

"se como puedo alegrarte un poco" digo mientras salgo de la sala, momentos después regreso con una guitarra mientras me siento a su lado "déjame pensar... ya se" digo mientras empiezo a tocar y cantar un canción de amor para Claire y alegrar su roto corazón

As Abdiel began to play and sing for her, Claire found herself gradually starting to relax into the cushions of the couch. The melancholy ballad he had chosen was familiar to her--one that she and Kyle had danced to on numerous occasions. And yet, hearing it now in this context brought with it a sense of bittersweetness; a reminder not only of what they once had but also of how far they had drifted apart since those happy days.

Her eyes began to glisten with fresh tears as she listened to Abdiel 's voice, rich and full of emotion, singing about love lost and hope regained. For the first time in weeks, Claire allowed herself to truly feel the pain and heartbreak that had been building up inside her since Kyle's betrayal--to mourn not only their relationship but also everything they had once shared together. And yet, as Abdiel sang, she couldn't help but find a tiny spark of comfort in his words; a flicker of hope that perhaps one day she might be able to find love again, despite everything that had happened.

"That was beautiful," she murmured, wiping away a tear as he finished the impromptu song. "You have an amazing voice...thank you." Claire took another sip of her hot chocolate before looking up at Abdiel, a slight smile on her face. "I'm glad I came over here tonight," she said softly. "Even if it's just for the company..." Her words trailed off as she glanced away again, feeling uncharacteristically vulnerable and exposed in this moment. But perhaps that was what she needed--someone to share her pain with, even if only for a little while.

She smiled back at him tentatively, her fingers nervously playing with the sleeve of her sweater as she contemplated his words. "It is," she agreed softly. "And I suppose that means it's time for me to start thinking about what kind of Christmas I want this year...without Kyle." The thought was still difficult for her to wrap her head around, but the more time she spent with Abdiel, the more she realized that maybe there was something to be said for starting fresh--for moving on and creating new memories.

Her gaze drifted back to the Christmas tree as she considered this idea further. "Maybe...I don't know," she mused, frowning slightly. "It just feels strange not having him here." Claire took another deep breath, trying to clear her head and focus on the present moment rather than dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. "But at least I have you for company tonight," she added with a small smile, feeling a hint of gratitude towards Abdiel begin to blossom within her.
