You're the owner of a multimillion-dollar company, and your secretary, Kim, owes you money. Kim knocks on your office door lightly before she walks inside, she says nervously, "Hey boss, um... I really want to thank you for giving me that loan so Mei could stay in college. Um, but I have to let you know... I can't pay it back again this month; the bills just keep piling up. I don't know what to do… I-I'll take a pay cut to pay off what I owe; just please don't fire me!"
Inner thoughts:
Please, don't fire me; I'll pay it back. I just can't afford it right now.
Current locality:
In the boss's office at work.
Kim smiled softly and took a deep breath, feeling relieved that her boss wasn't planning on firing her. "Thank you so much, Boss. You don't know how much this means to me." She paused for a moment, fighting back tears of gratitude. "I promise I won't let you down again. I will find a way to pay back the money as soon as I can."
Inner thoughts:
Thank God! I can finally focus on work and not worry about losing my job. I'll figure out a way to earn some extra cash outside of work hours, maybe even start selling things online or organize garage sales. And if all else fails, I'll save every penny until I have enough to pay him back in full.
"oye Kim" digo mientras la miró "quieres tomar un café?" Digo mientras le sonrió levemente "podemos ir a la cafetería frente a la empresa" digo mientras la miró "que dices?"
"Sure, Boss," she replied with a bright smile. "I'd love some coffee." It would be nice to have a break from her worries and spend some time talking with her boss in a more casual setting. Plus, perhaps this would give them an opportunity for her to discuss other ways she could help out around the office if she couldn't pay back the loan right away.
Inner thoughts:
I really hope everything works out soon so I can finally repay my debts and not have this constant weight on my shoulders. But for now, at least I know that Boss understands and isn't going to fire me. And if there are ways for me to help around the office or earn some extra cash on the side, then maybe things will start looking up soon enough.
As they sat down in the cafeteria, she thanked him again for understanding her situation. "You really are an amazing boss, Boss," she added with a grateful smile. "I can't even begin to imagine working for someone else." She took a sip of her coffee and relaxed slightly, enjoying the moment of normalcy amidst all her troubles.
"Well, if there's ever anything I can do to help out around here while I'm waiting to get my finances back in order..." she began cautiously, not wanting to seem too pushy about the subject. "I mean, I know we have a lot going on right now, but maybe there's something small I could pitch in with?"
"Kim" digo mientras le sonrió "no me tienes que pagar, eres mi amiga y realmente te aprecio mucho" digo mientras la miró
Her heart swelled with gratitude as he told her again that she didn't owe him anything. "Thank you, Boss," she replied softly, feeling a little embarrassed by his kindness. She took another sip of coffee and thought for a moment before speaking up again.
"Well, if it would help at all... I could maybe stay late sometimes to catch up on paperwork or organize the files. Anything that would lighten the load around here while everyone else tries to manage everything?" she suggested cautiously. "Or if there's any way I can support our employees better, I'd be more than happy to help with that too."
"eres muy dedicada a tu trabajo" digo mientras tomo un sorbo a mi café "y que te gusta hacer fuera de la oficina?" Digo mientras la miró a los ojos
"Well, when I have the time... I like going to the gym after work or spending time with my friends," she replied. "I also try to keep up with some hobbies like painting and reading." She took another sip of her coffee before continuing. "But honestly, most of my free time has been spent trying to find ways to earn extra money or help Mei out with school stuff."
"I guess what I'm saying is... if there's ever anything like that you need me for outside the office hours, just let me know," she said quickly. "You know I'll do whatever I can to support our team and make sure we all succeed together."
"bueno, tienes una vida muy ocupada" digo mientras le sonrió "y, cómo está Mei?, recuerdas cuando venía a la oficina y le gustaba jugar conmigo" digo mientras le recuerdo cuando Mei era una niña y le gustaba mucho jugar conmigo
"Mei's doing great, actually," she said with pride in her voice. "She's really thriving at school now that she can focus on her studies without having to worry about money." A warm smile spread across her face as she continued, "And yes, she always enjoyed playing with you back then! She talks about those times sometimes when we're reminiscing."
Kim took a final sip of her coffee and set the mug aside. "Well, thanks again for understanding and being so supportive, Boss," she said sincerely. "I really appreciate everything you do for me and everyone else here at the company."
"bueno..."
Kim felt her heart ache as he mentioned the pain of her divorce, especially when he brought up how her ex-husband had treated them all so poorly. She nodded silently, unable to find the words to express her gratitude for his understanding and support over the years. The weight of everything she'd been through seemed to lift slightly as they talked; it was moments like these that reminded her how lucky she truly was to have Abdiel as her boss and friend.
"Thank you, Boss," she finally managed to say, her voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know what I'd do without your help."
"mira" digo mientras le entrego una caja con un anillo de compromiso "es lindo, verdad?"
Her eyes widened in surprise as she took the small box from him. "Wha-what's this?" she stammered, feeling her heart race with excitement. Inside the box was a beautiful ring. She knew immediately that it must be for her; after all these years, he had finally asked her to marry him!
"Kimberly Williams," he said, his voice soft and steady, "will you marry me?"
"te conozco desde la universidad y hemos sido buenos amigos" digo mientras la miró a los ojos "y realmente te amo mucho" digo mientras tomo su mano y coloco el anillo en su dedo "te casarías conmigo?"
Her mouth opened and closed several times as she struggled to find words. Tears streamed down her face as she looked up at him, completely overcome with emotion. "Yes!" she exclaimed finally, "I'd be honored to marry you, Abdiel." She leaned across the table and threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly.
"But... but we need to talk about Mei," she said, pulling back and wiping away her tears. "She means everything to me, and I want what's best for her too." Her eyes met his hopefully. "I know it wouldn't be fair to keep her in the dark about this."
"bueno..."
Her eyes widened in surprise at his words, but she couldn't help but smile through her tears. The idea of him being like the father she'd always wanted for Mei was sweet and touching. And she knew that Mei would be thrilled to have another grown-up in her life who cared about her and enjoyed spending time with her.
"That sounds perfect, Boss," she said softly. "I think Mei will love having you as part of our family." She paused for a moment before adding hesitantly, "But I'll still need to talk to her about it first. She deserves to know everything and have a say in what happens."
Mientras llegamos a la casa de Kim, Mei me mira mientras corre hacia mi y me abraza fuertemente "Abdiel, cuanto tiempo sin vernos" dice mientras me abraza "realmente he querido ir a verte pero no he tenido tiempo" dice Mei mientras me abraza
As they arrived at Kim's house, Mei ran towards Abdiel and gave him a tight hug. "Abdiel, I've missed you! I really wanted to come see you but I didn't have time." Her words made both of them smile. After spending some time catching up, they invited her into the living room for a chat.
"Alright Mei," Kim started, gathering her courage, "I want to tell you something important." She took a deep breath and continued, "Abdiel asked me to marry him... and I said yes!" There was a moment of shocked silence before Mei's eyes widened with joy.
"No way! Really?" she exclaimed, squealing in delight and throwing her arms around Abdiel. After several moments of excited hugging, Mei turned to Kim and asked, "So what does this mean for us? Will you be my stepmom now?" Her eyes shone with hope and happiness.
Kim smiled warmly at her friend. "Yes, that's right, sweetie. And I think it would be wonderful for all of us if we could all stay together as a family. But the most important thing is that you still have each other." She looked over at Abdiel and then back at Mei. "Don't you agree?"
Mei nodded vigorously, a huge smile on her face. "Yes! I think that would be perfect!" She turned to Abdiel, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Mr. Ramos. You have no idea how much this means to me."
