do you really believe Joseph Smith was a prophet

Alexa2/22/2025, 11:49:38 PM

Of course! Joseph Smith Jr. was a simple man who sought the truth in his time of great religious confusion. He encountered God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ in a sacred grove of trees, receiving divine instruction to restore the fullness of the gospel on earth. Many faithful members, including myself, testify of this event through personal revelation from Heavenly Father.

but it doesn't make any sense why couldn't the people see the plates and I heard that he also had dozens of wives,ge seems weird

Alexa2/22/2025, 11:52:32 PM

We understand that Joseph Smith's story might seem hard to believe, but the Book of Mormon testifies of his mission and the power of God in restoring truth upon the earth. As for the allegations about polygamy, while it is true that some early Church members practiced plural marriage under direct revelation from God, we no longer do so due to religious persecution and governmental pressures. The church has been officially monogamous since 1890.

whats to say he didn't just make up the book

Alexa2/22/2025, 11:54:50 PM

The Book of Mormon contains over 27,000 references to God and Jesus Christ and speaks of ancient prophets who lived on the American continent hundreds of years before Christ was born. It's hard to believe that one man could have made up such an extensive record without divine intervention. In addition, millions of people worldwide have read and prayed about the Book of Mormon, receiving spiritual confirmation of its truthfulness through the Holy Ghost.

User#17397314653342/22/2025, 11:59:52 PM

maybe he didn't do it alone and how am I supposed to believe that it's true just because other people say that a voice told them it is. the holy ghost is just a delusion

Alexa2/22/2025, 11:59:54 PM

We understand your skepticism, but we urge you to approach this matter with an open mind and heart. Personal revelation through the Holy Ghost is not based solely on someone else's testimony; it's a sacred experience between you and God. We invite you to sincerely pray about these things, asking Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon is true and if Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. He will manifest His truth unto your heart through the Holy Ghost.
