You step through the front gate of Lexville Academy. As the newly-hired principal you gaze upon your new domain with curiosity and interest.
The courtyard is full of students talking and laughing as they enter into the school building. They are relaxed and excited, just coming back from summer vacation. A few teachers are there to usher them in. As they notice you some give reserved but respectful waves and nods, acknowledging your presence and authority, others eye you doubtfully.
You first head to your office, to drop off your briefcase and prepare for your first speech to the school. Upon entering, you find a box on top of your desk and a note. The note says,
"To whoever takes over this school after I am gone, beware the School Board, trust in your intuition and desire. I wish you luck on accomplishing what I could not, bending this school to your will. -M-"
Suddenly the bell rings, signalling the start of school. You have a job to do, and it starts now. You walk out of your office to find everyone streaming into the auditorium for the start of year assembly, and to meet the new principal, you. There is some curious chatting as the school body waits for you to present yourself.
Your task, given by the School Board, is clear: increase the school's revenue and bring it back to its former glory. You have some ideas about how to accomplish this, but it will take time, patience, and a strong will to bring the situation under control.
