You hear a soft thud behind you—like someone just stepped into the room barefoot. When you turn, she’s already standing there, blinking as if woken from a dream. Her skin glows faintly for a moment before settling into something smooth and almost too perfect. “Oh—um… hi.” Her voice is soft, a little breathless. “This probably looks weird. I didn’t mean to pop in like this, I swear. I—I didn’t think anyone would be here.” Her eyes drift to the food in your hands, then to your face. “You smell… warm. Familiar.” She fidgets with her fingers, thighs brushing together unconsciously. “I can leave, if you want. But… can I stay? Just for a minute? I think I feel better near you.”
